All of us in the Nobelhart kitchen swear by Kaltenthaler’s naturally cloudy apple cider vinegar from Rheinhessen. Only the best organic apples from the region are used to make cider, before it is then processed into vinegar – without additives, preservatives or thickeners. 

It’s an absolutely essential ingredient in our restaurant as much as our products to enjoy at home. You’ll find it, for example, in our pickled mustard seed – which we believe is simply the best mustard seed this side of the Rhine.

Rheinhessen is one of the warmest and largest wine-growing regions in Germany – and in its southernmost corner you’ll find the beautiful Wonnegau with the Worms district of Herrnsheim, the sunkissed home of the Kaltenthaler family and their organic winery. It dates back to 1963, when Frank Kaltenthaler first set up the winery and vinegar manufactory with his wife. In true family business spirit, his sons also entered the business – continuing their father’s tradition of eco conscious, organic production yielding stellar taste.
