Cherry brandy, spontaneous fermentation
So is the spontaneous fermentation hype just the latest hipster fad? Not at all – it’s a time-honoured method that used to be incredibly common. And it’s exactly what “cherry guru” Lorenz Humbel does to achieve the fine complexity and truly unique profile of his cherry brandy. Unlike many of its mass produced peers, it isn’t soft and almondy, but straight and aromatic with juicy notes of cherry. It’s exciting, vivacious and goes down a treat.
50ml GIN 206, London dry gin
30ml BASLER LANGSTIELER. WILD 503, Cherry eau-de-vie
