Enter radish season in the spring and our Micha basically buys up all the radishes available in and around Berlin. With radish and lovage being one of our grumpy head chef’s favourite and recurring combinations, it’s about time we made you a take-home version. This iteration is as simple as it is versatile: radishes in a jar with lovage broth. They’re perfect cold and warm. We love them on a good slice of buttered sourdough topped with our smoked breadcrumbs.
These are perfect in a bowl of Mecklenburger Linsengericht, paired with Klopsen in Senfsoße (both recipes are in German, sorry!). Alternatively, you can keep it simple and have them on a nice slice of bread. For a quick yet interesting salad, place a few radishes in a bowl. Add thinly sliced fresh radishes as well as their greens and marinate with camelina oil and a little verjus. One ingredient, three different textures!
