Try the fennel warm as a side dish: use a little butter, briefly fry it in a hot pan on both sides until the fennel has taken on some color – throwing it on the grill also works, of course. Or: try it cold in a salad, as a fancy addition to a snack, finely chopped with onions and pepper in cottage cheese with potatoes. Keeping pickled veggies in your pantry is always a great idea by the way – they add bite and spice even to the most simple dishes!
