Luso Chá Organic Tea
Description
Luso Chá celebrates the first imports of tea to Europe by the Portuguese in the 19th century. The boxes carrying the precious cargo were marked with the acronym “TEA” – Transport of Aromatic Herbs. The English then promptly borrowed the word for this legendary drink.
Luso Chá is crafted from whole leaves picked during the second harvest in June, which yields larger leaves containing less caffeine. Their fresh flavour is full of character, yet pairs incredibly well with different dishes throughout the day – enjoy it with both sweet and savoury foods!
Tasting notes: Delicate green, little caffeine.
When stored dry and cool, the teas can easily be kept for 2-3 years without loss of taste or quality.
4-5g to 200ml of 80C water. Steep for 3 minutes. Up to 2 infusions are recommended. Let the second infusion steep for 3 minutes as well.
Since tea comes in all shapes and sizes, it is quite difficult to give you a measurement in tea- or tablespoons. So, if you are serious about tea or would like to be, we recommend investing in a little scale that is able to measure 0.1g. A fancy water boiler with temperature control is going to make your tea brewing set complete.
Some advice about the water used for brewing tea:
The quality of water is decisive for a good cup of tea! Tap water is rarely suitable, as it is often too hard and contains chlorine and too many minerals. It is advisable to use soft water, filtered or bottled in the preparations of tea.
