Description
For our Ukraine fundraiser, we’ve teamed up with the designer duo Sans und Leder (Michael Sans and Frank Leder). The two have designed a coaster that takes up a true legend of German pub culture: the time-honored “Herrengedeck”. In most German regions this term refers to the unholy combination of beer and schnapps – a “Langer” and a “Kurzer,” a long tall one and a short one. Fun fact: a “Herrengedeck” made up of beer and sparkling wine was the mandatory minimum consumption in many pubs on Hamburg’s Reeperbahn well into the seventies.
To make your Herrengedeck complete, we have enlisted the support of the Josephinenhütte, Zwiesel Glas, the Schneeeule and the Freimeisterkollektiv. 100% of the proceeds from this set will go towards UN Women Ukraine, which supports women’s organizations that provide essential services and resources for refugee women and girls.

Beer coasters – Sans and Leder
Designed and produced by the designer duo Sans und Leder (Michael Sans, Frank Leder). The coasters are made from 3.5mm thick vegetable tanned cowhide (blank leather) from southern Germany. The edges are plastered by hand, the embossing is done with a steel punch executed in one swift blow.
No. 4 Champagne Glass- Josephinenhütte
With its large surface area, deep tip and a body that narrows towards the rim, this glass beats every other champagne glass by a mile. We think it’s so wonderful that we do, in fact, serve beer in it, too.
