Lover’s Day

Nobelhart & Schmutzig

We may be called Nobelhart, but all of us have got a soft spot somewhere. After all, love is love and it lives in all of us – whether it’s love for your partner/s, your demented 17-year old tomcat or love for a perfectly buttered sandwich. Either way, there is no way around it. And if it so happens that you find yourself in love with a very special someone this year, you may just appreciate that we’ve got the perfect little assortment to make this Valentine’s Day one to remember.

Now, we know you’re not the type to stock up on tacky supermarket chocolates, but if you’ve felt briefly tempted, trust us – there is just nothing to be gained there. Instead, why not go straight for the highest level of chocolate, courtesy of Holger in’t Veld? His “Nibby” Kamili boasts fruity acidity and the full bodiedness of rich and silky cream. In-keeping with the rich and silky theme, we’re also adding our very own salted caramel to this delightful V-Day mix. It’s perfect on a slice of good sourdough, stirred into yogurt or straight from the jar by the spoonful. Another sweet treat comes in the shape of Lisa Ertl’s single vintage honey – we’re confident you can come up with your own X-rated serving suggestions on this one! Since you’ll probably want to drink to this special occasion, we’re also including one of Beckett’s Kopf signature cocktails, the Parisian – just pour it over ice and you’re good to go. And finally, the cherry on top: our very own Nobelhart condoms with a cheeky illustration by Veronika von Manz and a reminder to keep things enthusiastically consensual.

If you’re looking for an aesthetic upgrade to your V-Day package that is nonetheless fit for the occasion, be sure to get yourself a set of our Gerda Wegener coasters – available on request!

Why not order all these products individually? Because this lovely little package deal gets you 10% off, that’s why!

Gerda Wegener coasters

This set contains

Nibby Kamili

It’s beans are individually roasted by Holger, broken open, separated from the shell and, after the main rolling of the chocolate, combined with the previously separated nibs.

Salted Caramel

It’s deliciously creamy, sweet and salty and packs enough calories to add nicely to your well-earned lockdown belly. Our Nobelhart variety is made from Germany’s best unrefined sugar, courtesy of Naturata. Then we add spectacular cream and of course the nominal pinch of salt.

Vintage country honey 2020

This clear honey has a delicate floral fruity aroma. Due to the high amount of black locust tree there is none to very little crystallisation which keeps the honey super smooth.

Fruity doesn’t have to mean sweet – at least it doesn’t with this fragrant yet surprisingly dry cocktail. Thanks to the herbal notes of the gin Thomas Neubert has crafted in cooperation with Becketts Kopf and Lisa Bauer’s dry vermouth from Styria, the Parisian is a lesson in elegance. Add to that the opulent fruitiness of the Mozer family’s blackcurrant schnapps.

Good sex is might be noble, hard or filthy – but above all, it has to be consentual throughout. Our collaboration with einhorn condoms is all about shedding light on an issue that is very close to our hearts: the importance of communication in sex.

Gerda Wegener coasters (optional)

Gerda Wegener illustrated many luxury editions of erotic literature. And the watercolor pictures on the coasters were all used to illustrate the 12 poems in “Les Délassements de Eros” (Eros’s delight), which was published by Erotopolis (Paris) in 1925 and describes erotic relationships among women with considerable wit and elegance.

Nobelhart & Schmutzig
If Billy is to be believed, Nobelhart und Schmutzig only exists so that he can easily get his hands on the best food the Berlin and Brandenburg region has to offer. And so he can help himself to any of the 1308 different wines stored in our lovingly curated cellar….  But all joking aside, the motto at Nobelhart is:

Putting Local Food Back in Your Hands!

Nobelhart & Schmutzig has been “vocally local” from the start. Since first opening our doors in February 2015, we have grown fearlessly into our current role as Germany’s most political restaurant. This involves a conscious decision to shift the focus squarely onto the people, all from the greater Berlin region, who produce our raw ingredients. This self-imposed renunciation of products from afar, including lemons, tuna and chocolate, is the foundation of our eatery’s distinctive signature. There’s more at play here than just culinary aesthetics. Serving this philosophy also intrinsically means promoting environmental and economic sustainability for the people working with the bountiful nature in and around Berlin. It also involves pride in a sense act, even if too few understand it as such. And the ordinary shopping list very much serves as the stage for this modern brand of politics.  In addition to supporting raw ingredient producers from the Berlin region, Nobelhart & Schmutzig works closely with Die Gemeinschaft to establish a new and better eating culture for all. Good, healthy food should provide a future, perspectives and identity for the people who produce it and the companies that transform raw ingredients into fine products.
