Apricot fruit spread
Description
If you’re a fan of Peter Kunze’s legendary Mieze Schindler, you’ll want to try this sumptuous apricot spread. Well, we say “apricot,” but we should really use the proper Austrian term here: Marille, of the Klosterneuburger variety, to be precise. These fruits aren’t plucked from the tree, but gathered from the ground each morning, because apparently that is how you get the ones that are at the perfect point of ripeness. Peter says this spread takes him right back to his youth – and we can only hope you’ll find it similarly invigorating.
Great on buttered bread for breakfast, just as amazing in yoghurt.
