Our cake mix with poppy seed from Fläminger Genussland puts the focus on the subtle, elegant aroma of poppy seeds – that’s why we’ve kept it as pure and simple as possible. By the way: it’s important to store poppy seeds in a cool and dry place as they tend to go rancid otherwise.

How to prepare your cake

Pour the dry ingredients into a large bowl. Add three eggs and 145g of rapeseed oil, that’s roughly an empty yoghurt cup (200g) filled to the brim. Alternatively, you can use sunflower oil. 

Bake in a cake tin of your choice at 180 degrees for 25-40 minutes; the exact baking time will depend on the shape of the tin and your oven. The best way to figure out if your cake is ready is to poke a toothpick into the cake. If it comes out clean, it’s all done.
