Description
In our asparagus box you will find four delicious treats to turn into two signature Nobelhart & Schmutzig asparagus classics. Each portion is enough for four people.
First, of course, you’ll need fresh asparagus, which you’re best off buying from your local farmer or organic store/market.
In your box you’ll find lightly smoked butter crumbs – “Schmelze” as Micha Schäfer calls them – which add a pleasant crunch, to be used in a dish with the blackcurrant wood oil. Play it safe by using the latter as a marinade. If you’re feeling particularly bold, whip it into a milky mayonnaise.
The second dish features our onion ragout with elderflowers as well as camelina oil from Ölmühle an der Havel. If that sounds too simple, worry not – when all the ingredients are top of the crop, you’ll hardly need anything else. This dish is full-bodied and exquisite, fresh and delicate like the early spring. Plus, it’s also incredibly quick and easy to prepare. The hardest part is peeling the asparagus, really.
Optionally we’d like to offer a lovely bottle of 2019 Riesling by Julien Renard from the Mosel, boasting low alcohol, fine wildness, sparse acidity and a reduced mineral structure. At the same time, it’s absolutely clear and straightforward – a harmonious middle ground between the safe haven of convention and the eccentricity of some natural wines.

Take it from us: these are as versatile as salt! Warm up the crumbs in a small saucepan and then heap them onto literally everything – your favorite vegetables or even meat.
Blackcurrant wood oil
Freshly cut blackcurrant wood, extracted overnight in rapeseed oil from Fläminger Genussland. A beautiful addition to any salad, yet as versatile as olive oil.
